People say the nicest things
I thoroughly enjoyed the first seminar. I’ve learned aspects that were new to me, and despite having two theology degrees, feel there is so much to learn and explore. I’m very grateful for your time and for the teaching methods. The satisfaction of learning and the thirst for knowledge and wanting to learn more was set alight from the Ramadan Quran Course, which left me on a spiritual high, and I’m extremely happy I took the plunge and signed up to QSG and to commit to the seminars too. Like most people, faith plays a central role in my life, but we just chug-along with work and life in general and forget about drawing close to the scripture. This course takes me back to my SOAS days, studying under the guidance of Professor Abdel Haleem who beautified the Qur’an for me and made me see it in a completely different light, and that same feeling of spiritual wonder and awe has come from your teaching and guidance, and from the wonderful fellow members. I see and feel a real kinship and Subhan Allah I am very grateful to you all, and more so to you Ustadh for your time and efforts. I really am so excited for what the next few months bring and for the class to flourish and grow. May all your efforts be blessed.
I think last Saturday’s session was absolutely amazing and not only nourishing in terms of religion but also strongly helped the development growth of each individuals. Public speaking is not easy and I understand why some sisters refuse the video. However, although uncomfortable i think it is very good to have the ability to watch each others and improve our public speaking skills. I know it is not the purpose of the course but it is of a great help. I personally notice several mistake that i will be able to improve inshallah.
Jazakallah for the excellent seminar on Saturday. The interesting topic, the new & varied format which maintained our attention throughout, & the participation of the class, along with the opportunity to get to know other class members made it one of the most memorable seminars I have attended.
Seminar attendeeI really found the first class to be of great value. I learned so many new things Alhumdulillah. May Allah SWT make this new knowledge beneficial to me and others, Ameen. I really liked that it was engaging and the group exercise made us think about the themes and lessons and then to present back to the rest of the group was also an unexpected opportunity to develop further, Alhumdulillah. I really enjoyed the food! I loved the samosas! And the rice was cooked to perfection! May Allah SWT bless the sister and her father for arranging and increase their barakah in so many good ways for them, Ameen.
It was very well organised and the material to review is an additional bonus. I was very happy to learn new perspectives on the role of women in Islam and the Qur’an. I loved the social aspect of the seminar and meeting new people. I very much look forward to the next seminar and will be encouraging a couple of friends to join, Insha Allah!
Yet again we have been shown a new, fun and interesting way to understand and look deeper into the Quran which makes it accessible to Muslims and non-Muslims alike. I wish I could have had these classes as a child!
Seminar attendeeThank you Ustadh for the session on Saturday and for organising a great line-up of seminars this year. I loved the focus on women speakers in the Qur’an and the fact that we could learn about so many. Standing up and speaking was nerve-racking for me because, as a revert, I’m still building up foundational knowledge on stories and lessons from the Qur’an and I don’t want to misspeak. But I’d like to work on my public speaking skills so it’s a good opportunity nevertheless. I also like having group discussions. Thank you again for all you do to give us knowledge and help us strengthen our iman and deen.
Seminar attendeeIt was an excellent presentation, and the workshop interactive approach was very stimulating. Alhamdulillah, I learned many new facts, and I am looking forward to attending the rest of the course Insha Allah. I would also like to thanks the sisters who bought us the delicious lunch. Myself and my mum thoroughly enjoyed it. Jazak Allah Khair for organising it.
Alhamdulliah I really enjoyed the session. I felt the group activities helped me think critically and analyse text in a way I hadn’t before. It also helped me to build relationship with others. Like many others, I was brought up to read Qur’an in Arabic. I didn’t know what I was reading other than the fact it was a must to read. Sadly, over the years, I have lost my ability to read Arabic and had a great fear how to start again. Since coming to the Quran Study Group, my love and passion for the Quran is indescribable
